A scholarly publication series chronicling the history of the United Board and Free Church chaplaincy through the World Wars and beyond.

About the Project

Founder & Secretary: Dr Neil E Allison FSAScot

Web Site Developer & Manager: Carolyn Blackshaw

In 2006 Dr Neil Allison was elected at the United Navy, Army and Airforce Board's (U.B.) annual conference to take on the role of the 'Official' Historian of the United Navy, Army and Air Force Board. He has since written and presented numerous academic papers related to that unique and exciting history.

In 2015 he founded the United Navy, Army and Airforce History Project (U.B.H.P.) to continue to promote that history through its own publications and the awarding of the 'Making History' Shakespeare Memorial Medal for significant published work. In 2026 Caitie Dickson was appointed the Senior Publications Editor and is presently working on a collection of papers which will be collated into the forthcoming volume The Distinctive Evangelical Ministry in Military Chaplaincy, Mission and Christian Education due to be published in 2027.
